| The Goppert Foundation has awarded Avila University a gift of $1,050,000 for the construction of a new suite-style residence hall. The Goppert Foundation has been a long-time supporter of Avila University; the university's theatre bears the Goppert name. Avila, currently in a $14 million capital campaign, has scheduled construction of a new, state-of-the-art residence hall to begin in the fall of 2006. The residence hall will feature amenities such as a suite-style floorplan, individual bedrooms, kitchen areas and private bathrooms. We are fortunate to have the support of such a wonderful organization, said Greg Reichert, Avila University vice president for advancement. The Goppert Foundation supports the mission and values of Avila and their help is important to our continued success. Other improvements in the campaign include campus beautification, a recreation path to line the historic Sante Fe Trail, technology improvements, and increased support for the university's endowment. Avila University was founded in 1916 and is sponsored by the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Carondelet. Avila University is a private, co-educational, values-based liberal arts institution founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, and is located at 119th and Wornall Rd in southwest suburban Kansas City, MO. |
