Citing a desire to invest in education in the State of Missouri, AT&T recently provided a grant of $15,000 to the Missouri Colleges Fund (MCF).
The grant will underwrite Outstanding Teacher scholarships at the 13 MCF member schools. These scholarships will be awarded by the member schools on the basis of financial need.
“We are very grateful to AT&T and the Missouri Colleges Fund for this gift,” said Dr. Ron Slepitza, Avila University president. “This contribution recognizes the importance of education and the significant impact that an educated workforce has on Missouri’s economy. Further, it underscores the importance of supporting the profession of teaching as a means of achieving that educated workforce.”
The MCF was formed in 1952 as a non-profit corporation. The MCF Mission is to acquire resources to help educate students in its 13 member private liberal-arts colleges and universities.
Missouri Colleges Fund member schools include Avila University, Kansas City; Central Methodist University, Fayette; Culver-Stockton College, Canton; Drury University, Springfield; Evangel University, Springfield; Fontbonne University, St. Louis; Maryville University, St. Louis; Missouri Baptist University, St. Louis; Park University, Parkville; Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar; Westminster College, Fulton; William Jewell College, Liberty; and William Woods University, Fulton.
