KANSAS CITY, Mo - - Robin Nigro, director of the Robin Nigro Golf Academy in south Kansas City, has been appointed head men's and women's golf coach at Avila University, Gary Gallup, Avila director of athletics, announced today.

In addition, the Robin Nigro Golf Academy, located at the Martin City Sports Complex at 135th Street and Wornall Road, will provide Avila's golfers with access to state-of-the-art facilities in addition to the new athletics complex currently under construction on the Avila campus. The golf academy includes a TaylorMade Performance Lab, a heated double-deck driving range, sand volleyball courts, paintball, miniature golf course and batting cages.

"Robin brings outstanding experience to our program," Gallup said, "and the Martin City Sports Complex provides a great opportunity to attract first-class student-athletes necessary to compete in the Heart of America Athletic Conference and the NAIA."

Both Robin and her husband and business partner, Mark, are very excited about the new partnership with Avila and look forward to becoming more involved with all of the university's students, faculty, staff and the Avila community.

"We're looking forward to making Avila's golf program the best it's ever been," Robin Nigro said. "There's no facility like ours. Players will have the latest technology to improve their games."
