KANSAS CITY, Mo - - It appears Avila University graphic design students Jonathan Mahoney and Roberto Camacho weren't satisfied with simply ruling the ADDY Awards at the local level.
The two Avila students won big for a second time in a little more than a month at the ADDYs, this time at the American Advertising Federation District 9 Regional Competition.
Mahoney, who won a gold ADDY and Best of Student for his "Kansas City Home & Garden Identity Redesign" mixed media campaign at the Kansas City competition Feb. 19, won gold again at the regional level.
Camacho, who won a gold award at the Kansas City show for his PIONEERS Architecture Book Series, won a silver award at the regional competition, which included students' entries from Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa.
Both students' work will go on to compete at the national level later in the year. Both will graduate from Avila in May with Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in graphic design.
