Avila students host vigil for families of KC murder victims  
  Candlelight vigil is set for evening of May 11; Danny Cox to perform

A class in Avila University’s School of Visual and Communication Arts is hosting a candlelight vigil for the families of 12 murder victims from the Kansas City area over the last year. The vigil is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. May 11 at Pilgrim Chapel, 3801 Gillham Road, Kansas City, Mo.

Students in associate professor Ben Meade’s “Fundamentals of Communication” class each have been assigned a specific murder case and will make a presentation following opening comments from Rev. Roger Coleman. The families of the victims will be present.

Music will be presented by Danny Cox.
