WHY: Hartsook Companies has been overwhelmed by the response to the first-ever “Growing Philanthropy Day of Service.” More than 40 nonprofit organizations have signed up so far for the FREE fundraising consulting sessions at the Hartsook Institute for Fundraising at Avila University to celebrate this day of service on Thursday, Jan. 21. These sessions are designed to assist nonprofit organizations develop an action plan to re-energize their development efforts. Among the topics discussed at these confidential, two-hour sessions are:
- Increasing operational or major gift support donors
- Developing prospect databases
- Staffing fundraising events
- Engaging and recruiting board members
- Securing corporate and foundation funding
- Increasing visibility and enhancing communications
- Developing and working a plan
Nonprofits registered for appointments in advance; a post follow-up is included in the consultation. Qualifying nonprofits also may be eligible for three full scholarships for the National Growing Philanthropy Conference, scheduled for Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, in Kansas City.
