Avila students receive proclamation from KC mayor
  Kansas City, MO
December 15, 2010

Avila students were recognized recently for their service in the Kansas City community with a proclamation bestowed by the city’s mayor, Mark Funkhouser. The proclamation was handed out Dec. 5, 2010, to coincide with the International Volunteer Day for Economic and Social Development.

The day was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly Dec. 17, 1985 to thank volunteers and volunteer organizations around the world for their efforts and to increase public awareness of their contributions.
