  Avila women bring home Clarion Award for curriculum design

Three women in Avila University's School of Visual and Communication Arts and College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences kept some pretty good company among award winners recently crowned by The Association for Women in Communication.

Linda Strelluf, assistant professor of the School of Visual and Communication Arts, Sherry Schirmer, professor, College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, and Dotty Hamilton, dean of the School of Visual and Communication Arts, won a Clarion Award from the association. The award was in the Education category and in Curriculum Design for the course, America Popular Culture: The Sixties.

This year's competition drew entries from 30 states and three countries. Winners also included such esteemed candidates as the Associated Press, Wall Street Journal, NBC, and the Massachusetts School of Law.
