Avila Art Students Published
Three Avila University students had photographs selected for the 2008 Photographers Forum Best of College Photography Annual. Avila students Megan Carnes, Jaqui Drummond and Diana Meade received the honor. Avila student Adam Stinson’s Polaroid transfer photograph was selected to be shown at the Kansas City Artists Coalition Regional College Art Exhibit.
Art Professor’s Work on Display
Art Professor Marci Aylward will have her work displayed in the “Urban Suburban Home is Where the Art is” exhibit at the Epsten Gallery at Village Shalom, a project of the Kansas City Jewish Museum Foundation, located in Overland Park, Kan. The exhibit is open Tuesday – Friday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 11 p.m. to 4 p.m. until Oct. 26, 2007.

Avila Alum hired as Sports Anchor in Virginia
Zach Choate, ’07, was recently hired as the weekend sports anchor for WHSV-TV in Harrisonburg, Va. While attending Avila, he was a news intern for KMBC Channel 9 news, and KSHB as a sports intern. While at KSHB he was promoted to associate sports producer. Choate, a St. Louis native, also produced daily sport reports on four radio stations in St. Louis. Choate majored in communication and played soccer all four years at Avila.
