AUDITION INFORMATION:

Have you ever wanted to be in the Spotlight?

Are you good at memorizing lines?

Do you like to have fun?

Then you should audition for our next season's productions.

Auditions for the fall shows will be held the first day of classes, Wednesday, August 27, 2008. The procedures will be the same as in the past with a short “Theatre Rally” held on Wednesday, August 27 at 6 p.m. in the Goppert Theatre lobby.  The general auditions will begin immediately following the theatre meeting.  All theatre majors, minors, and those on grant are required to attend this meeting.  All BFA Acting and Musical Theatre majors are required to audition.  BFA Directing and BA Theatre majors may audition but must request a production assignment, if not auditioning.  BFA Technical Theatre students are also welcome to audition and must request a production assignment.   If you have technical theatre questions, feel free to e-mail Jason Harris, Director of Technical Theatre and Design.

        • For Barefoot in the Park, prepare a one-minute contemporary comic monologue.
        • For Hamlet, prepare a one-minute Shakespearean verse—no sonnets and no prose.
        • For those women who audition for Hamlet and want to be considered for the role of Ophelia, please prepare the following to song or some type of rhythm with the appropriate acting choices:
For bonny sweet Robin is all my joy.
And will he not come again,
And will he not come again?
                        No, no he is dead,
                        Go to thy death-bed,
                        He will never come again.
 .
        • Callbacks for Hamlet will begin after the general auditions on Wednesday, August 27 and continue on Thursday, evening, August 28 at 8pm.
        • Callbacks for Barefoot will be held Thursday August 28 at 6pm in Goppert.
        • Callback procedures for both shows will be announced at the “Theatre Rally.”
If you have any questions, please e-mail Jason Harris (for tech questions), Robert Foulk or Patricia Robertson (for performance questions).
