Alumni Testimonials
I have always been fascinated and curious about our past, but when I arrived at Avila I was unsure whether I
wished to pursue a degree course in History. After taking several introductory classes, I realized that a History
degree would provide me with the necessary skills to be successful in modern society. Today, businesses look
for graduates that not only possess academic qualifications, but who also have strong organizational, analytical,
interpersonal, written, and communication skills. This is the predominant reason why I chose to enroll in the
History program at Avila, for a history degree enables students to obtain all these skills and much more.
Students enrolled in Avila's History program enjoy close relationships, assisting each other on a day-to-day basis.
Furthermore, Avila is fortunate to have two Professors of History that work hard in getting the best out of each and
every student.
I graduated in May 2000, and I was extremely proud to receive a B.A in History. Moreover, I feel fortunate to have been a
part of a program that enabled me to have a thoroughly enjoyable college experience.
