REQUESTING BOOKS FROM MOBIUS
Summary of the Requesting Process
The Avila library is a part of MOBIUS consortium of libraries, a group of over
sixty "academic" Missouri libraries. In addition to the books and materials owned
by the Avila library, library users have access to ALL "requestable" books and
materials owned by other MOBIUS libraries.
Students, faculty, and staff may request books directly from any MOBIUS library.
The procedure for requsting a MOBIUS book is similar to the procedure for requesting a
book from the Kansas City cluster.
If Avila patrons need assistance when requesting a MOBIUS book, ask for assistance
from a librarian at the circulation desk, or call by phone at 816-501-3621).
The Avila library receives book deliveries from MOBIUS libraries five days a week via
the library-courier service; book requests usually arrive in three to five business days.
Avila patrons will recieve an e-mail when the requested book has arrived
at the circulation desk of the Avila library. You can check the status of your request
by logging into your "library account" and selecting "show requests." Patrons are also
welcome to call or stop by the library to inquire about their "MOBIUS" requests.
