Teaching Certification

Do you have a bachelor's degree?
Have you always wanted to be a teacher?
Avila's graduate teacher certification may be the program for you!

With our innovative schedule, you can take all of the graduate education classes you need for teacher certification. Avila offers many areas of certifications including:

  • Elementary 1-6
  • Special Education K-12
  • Mild/Moderate Cross Categorical
  • Middle School 5-9
  • Art K-12
  • Biology 9-12
  • Business Education 9-12
  • English 9-12
  • Music Unified Vocal/Choral K-12
  • Social Studies 9-12
  • Speech/Theater-9-12

You will conclude your certification with an 8-week final clinical experience, or if you are currently teaching in a school, you can continue in your existing position as an intern. Your final clinical experience will give you a chance to collaboratively plan lessons, prove your skills and complete your Teacher Work Sample.

Convenient Scheduling
Courses are structured in 5-week or 7-week sessions. Our program is not a lock-step or cohort program. Thus, you can schedule the classes you need to complete your program at the times that are most convenient for you without having to worry about keeping a pre-set pace. You can custom tailor the graduate education program based on your lifestyle, taking classes when any session starts. See the listing of courses.
