First held in 1977, the Steer Dinner is one of the longest running charity galas in Kansas City. Last year's event raised more than $353,487 to benefit student scholarships, faculty development, and technology.

Since the first dinner almost 33 years ago alumni, family and friends have contributed over $5.8 million in scholarship money, assuring that nearly 98% of first-year Avila students receive some form of financial assistance. To help students obtain an education from an institution respected for its academic excellence is a gift that continues throughout their lives.
