On March 8, 2008, over 350 guests helped to change Avila's skylines with with honorary chairs Bill and Jean '44 Dunn and event chairs Bob and Terry '79 Fisher. The 32nd Annual Steer Dinner raised more than $325,000 for student scholarships. Once again, the S.O.L.D. Fund, created in honor of Sr. Olive Louise Dallavis, CSJ, president emerita, raised more than $100,000.

The event was held at the Sheraton Overland Park Hotel with patrons enjoying a wonderful tenderloin dinner. Ron Stricker and the Nigro Brothers presented a lively auction and the Karen Davis Project provided the musical entertainment.
