The S.O.L.D. Fund is named in honor of Sister Olive Louise Dallavis, Avila's founding president. Sister Olive Louise retired to the CSJ's home in St. Louis in 2009, but her spirit and example continue to be an inspiration to Avila students. For over 50 years, Sister Olive spent every waking moment working to make certain that Avila students received the highest quality, values centered education possible, and tirelessly raised scholarship funds to ensure access to that education for all who wish to attend Avila.
