Centennial Initiatives

Campus Life Initiative

Avila’s Campus Life Initiative reflects a rich combination of living, learning and studying on campus. Student life means a vibrant residential community integrated with an around the clock learning environment. Athletics, extracurricular activities and special events like Homecoming enhance students’ Avila pride. This initiative enhances the collegial experience Avila offers and nurtures Eagle pride.

Key components include:

  • Construction of Glenna Wylie Hall (formerly Avila Hall)
  • Expansion of the dining hall and Marian Student Center
  • Renovation of the Mabee Fieldhouse
  • Construction of a multi-sport field and event complex
  • Construction of a sports pavilion

"Even though I am from nearby Lee's Summit, MO, one of the best decisions I made is to live on campus the entire time while attending Avila. I've felt part of a community that's played a large role in helping me achieve my goals and open doors to my future. It's a smaller setting, so it helps you to be better prepared, because you get more individual attention."
