| In chemistry, AU is the symbol for gold. In our community, AU is the symbol for values-based learning that prepares students with the knowledge, skills and experiences that enable them to be innovative leaders. At Avila, we strive to give students, of all abilities, ethnicity, backgrounds and income levels – an affordable values-based education. For over 90 years, Avila University alumni, family and friends have helped the university make our values-based education accessible by donating millions of dollars in assistance each year. |

Today, the cost of higher education may represent one of the largest single investments that a family or individual may make in a lifetime. As a result, most students need some form of financial aid package, a combination of scholarships, grants and loans, in order to finance their education. At Avila, more than 98% of students receive financial aid, and each year the university awards more than $3.4 million to help meet this need. In the current economy, requests for financial aid have never been higher. Now is the time to extend the reach of scholarship to guarantee that our student body defines itself by potential, not economic factors. |

| Why Give to Avila? Giving supports student scholarships. While Avila holds the same values as 90 years ago, our students’ needs are increasing. 100% of your donation will benefit student scholarships. Over 97% of Avila first-year students receive some form of financial aid – the majority of whom are the first in their families to attend college. Without your financial help, these students will not be able to attend Avila in pursuit of the dreams. Lead by example- If you received scholarship assistance at some point during your educational career, you know the impact that financial support had on your academic life. Lead by example and support a student like you. Develop leaders with knowledge, skill and experience who think for themselves, chase their dreams and serve others. Your support for student scholarships allows Avila to recognize outstanding achievement, encourage academic excellence and offer support to deserving students, enabling them to pursue their educational and career goals. |

| Matching Gifts Many companies sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees. Check with your human resources office to see if your employer is a matching gift company, request a matching gift form, fill it out and send it. We will do the rest! The impact of your gift to Avila could be doubled or even tripled! Some companies may also match gifts made by spouses or retirees.
