The Department of Education requires ALL fist time borrowers (new and transfers) at Avila University to complete a mandatory Stafford (Subsidized and/or Unsubsidized) Entrance Loan Counseling before their student loan proceeds can be disbursed from the lender of their choice.
If you are a new student to Avila (transfer/entering student) click here for Entrance Counseling or contact the Financial Aid Office at (816) 501-3625 after the 2nd week of class to set up an individual appointment. FIRST-TIME BORROWERS: Please note that the college will disburse your loan proceeds 30 days after classes have officially begun and you have completed the required entrance counseling.
Student loan borrowers who are graduating or leaving Avila University need to complete Exit Counseling. The Registration and Student Records Office will notify your previous lender of your last date of attendance. Your loan payments are scheduled to begin 6 months after your last date of attendance or contact your lender if you will be continuing your education at another institution for an in-school deferment.
If you are graduating or leaving Avila, please click here for Exit Counseling or contact the Financial Aid Office (816) 501-3625 to receive an exit packet in the mail.
