Secondary Art Education Requirements

 

Teacher Candidates major in Art and minor in Secondary Education.

AVILA CORE REQUIREMENTS (Beginning Fall 2015)
Foundations Courses (10-12 hrs)  
Communication 3 hrs
Composition I-Rhetorical Discourse 3 hrs
Mathematics -- College Algebra 3 hrs
First Year Seminar 1 hr

Pillar Levels (30 hours --  see catalog for specific courses)

  • 24 credit hours at the Acquire and Transform levels (combined), completing at least one course in each of the pillars
  • Minimum of 6 credit hours at the Contribute level (can be met in the major and in one pillar)
