When may I apply for certification? Final Clinical Experience and Final Clinical Experience Seminar grades must be posted for all certification candidates. Undergraduate candidates must also have their degree posted before they may schedule their certification appointment.
What are the steps for completing my teaching certification?
Complete all coursework.
Pass the Missouri Pearson Content Exam for your area(s) of certification and have an official score report sent to Avila.
Have your fingerprints and background check processed.

To begin the Missouri Certification process you must complete an Initial Professional application on the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education website. https://k12apps.dese.mo.gov/webLogin/login.aspx All Avila program completers MUST complete the Missouri certification process.
Prior to completing certification in any state other than Missouri, you must first complete the Missouri certification process. Your Missouri Certificate must be sent with your Kansas license application. Candidates seeking certification in Kansas must complete the Kansas Out-of-State Teaching License Application (Form 2).
