Our graduates are reflective teachers who impact a changing world. Over the past ten years, an average of 95% of our graduates were hired immediately and are currently teaching in school districts in the metropolitan area and across the nation and world.
The School of Education has a reputation for graduating excellent teachers who are well prepared to teach today's students. Our comprehensive program focuses on research based pedagogy and practical application.
One of the strongest components of our program is the active learning gained through authentic experiences. Most of the classes you will take have a clinical experience. In these clinical experiences, our students are in the public and private school classrooms teaching K-12 students. It is through these experiences that you will truly learn the art of teaching.
You will find no "Ivory Tower" thinking from the excellent Education faculty. Each member of the faculty has maintained an active presence in the public and private schools through our many strong partnerships. Each of the faculty supervises student teachers every semester furthering our presence in the local school districts.
If you have already earned a degree and now realize that you really always wanted to be a teacher, we have a Graduate Certification program though which you can earn your certification.
