organizations on a variety of career planning and job hunting

Please include the preferred date and an alternate date, time,
and topic requested in your e-mail. To ensure availability,
please submit your request at least two weeks in advance.

Services Programs
Introduction to Career Services – This
brief program introduces students to the various career exploration,
planning, and job search resources and services available
through Career Services. Program length: approximately
10-15 minutes.
Career Exploration/Planning – What
do you want to be when you grow up? Exploring one’s
interest, skills, personalities, and values can point you
in the right direction. This session introduces students
to the various resources and services available in Career
Services to help them discover what they are good at, interested
in, and value in their life which will help point them in
the direction of the right career path. Program length:
approximately 45 minutes.
Creating an Effective Résumé
- A résumé is a snapshot of who
you are and what experiences you have had. This session
will aid participants in writing a professional résumé
that will get them noticed by employers. Program length:
approximately 50-90 minutes.
Writing Cover Letters - A cover letter
is, in essence, your first conversation with an employer and
is also a writing sample of the sender’s writing skills.
This session will aid participants in writing a professional
cover letter that will get the employer interested in knowing
more. Program length: approximately 30 minutes.
Interviewing Skills – This presentation will coach students on preparing for the six stages of the interview process and how to respond to behavioral based interview questions. Other topics covered include what to wear and following up after the interview. Program length: approximately 50 minutes.
