Science & Health Complex

New Microbiology Lab

New Chemistry Lab

New General Science Labs

As a key component of Avila University’s Future Healthcare Leaders Initiative, Avila will renovate nearly 15,000 square feet of space in O’Rielly Hall to establish the Marie Joan Harris, CSJ, Ph.D.Science & Health Complex, including new microbiology, chemistry, instrument and general science labs. Named for Marie Joan Harris, CSJ, Ph.D., provost and vice president for academic affairs who started her career at Avila 43 years ago as a chemistry professor, the Science & Health Complex will respond to the increased demand for health care professionals in our community, and the growing number of students who are pursuing degrees in Avila University’s nursing, radiologic science, kinesiology, and pre-health programs.
