The purpose of the minor is to provide students with an understanding of how market economies work and whether public policies can improve on market outcomes. Students will learn about how individual buyers and sellers make decisions, how these agents interact in markets and what determines the overall levels of economic activity and inflation. The minor provides students with analytical skills and background knowledge that could be useful when working in business, education, or government.
