Chris Clements

Chris Clements recently finished his fifth season as the head coach of both the men’s and women’s soccer teams at Avila University. Both programs have shown steady progress in each season he’s been at the helm.

His overall record with the Eagles women is 47-35-10, and finished with a 10-8-1 record in 2012. This was the their consecutive season the women's Eagles have won at least ten contests. The high point of Clement's tenure came in 2011 when the Eagles finished 12-3-5 and advanced to the semifinals of the Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament.

The men's soccer program have gone 26-59-4 over his five seasons, but the Eagles’ seven victories in 2011 and 2012 was by far the most in a season over the last decade. In 2011, the Eagles were just one win away from making their first conference tournament since joining the Heart of America Athletic Conference. This past season the Eagles went 6-4 in non-conference play, their second consecutive year with a winning record in non-conference contests.

Clements’s also has had several players named to All-HAAC teams and had several HAAC player of the week honorees for both the men's and women's program.

Prior to coming to Avila, Clements coached at the University of Central Missouri for three seasons (2005-2007). While assisting the program at UCM, the Jennies compiled an overall record of 36-17-8, including a Missouri Intercollegiate Athletic Association co-championship in 2007. During Clements' time as the lead recruiter, the Jennies placed 26 players on the MIAA All-Academic team, as well as seven players named to first team All-Conference, 14 honorable mention All-Conference, and one NCAA Division II All-American.

In addition to his experience at the University of Central Missouri, he has served as the assistant and as the head coach for the girls Missouri Olympic Development Program from 2006-2012. He holds an National Soccer Coaches Association of America Priemer Diploma and a Goalkeeping diploma, as well as multiple U. S. Soccer Federation coaching licenses. Clements and his wife, Natalie, sons Devon and William, and daughter Grace live in Warrensburg, Missouri.

     
Brett Koziczkowski
Assistant Coach

Brett Koziczkowski recently concluded his second year as an assistant coach at Avila University. Koziczkowski serves as the goalkeeper coach for both the men's and women's soccer program. In 2011, the Eagles women's program ranked 10th in the nation in shutouts with twelve and 20th in the nation in goals against average giving up under a goal per game. In 2012, the Eagles men's programmed ranked 39th in the nation in total saves (109) and ranked fifth in the HAAC in Goals Against Efficiency.

Koziczkowski came to Avila prior to the 2011 season after playing three years (2008-2010) at Lambuth University in Jackson, TN. While at Lambuth, Brett was a NAIA national player of the week nominee as well as an A.I.I. Conference player of the week nominee. Brett was also a member of the 2008 National Tournament squad.

Brett completed his B.A. degree in Film & Digital Media in just three years and recently completed his M.A degree in Management and Fundraising at Avila. He is also a member of Phi Alpha Theta, the national honor society for historians.

Koziczkowski has served as Director of Goalkeeping for the Jackson Wolves Soccer Club and is currently in his third year with the Missouri Olympic Development Program. He currently acts as head coach for the 2000 Missouri Boys team. Koziczkowski serves on the summer soccer camp coaching staff at 2012 NCAA Division I National Champions Indiana University and at the University of Alabama - Birmingham.

Brett currently holds a USSF National D Coaching License and has obtained his National Diploma and Goalkeeping Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. In addition to his soccer responsibilities, Koziczkowski is in his second year as Sports Information Director here at Avila.

     
  Adam Lamb
Assistant Coach

Adam Lamb will be starting his first year as assistant coach at Avila in the Fall of 2013.

 

Adam joins the Avila coaching staff after serving as the Director of Youth Development at Dexter Soccer Club in Michigan. In addition to his roles at DSC, Lamb served as the State Director for Michigan South for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) as well as a staff coach for the Michigan ODP program. Additionally, Lamb was the Head Coach for the U10 Boys Michigan Coerver Performance Academy.

 

Prior to arriving in the US, Lamb worked with the youth academies of professional sides Blackburn Rovers and Barnsley FC. At Blackburn Rovers, Adam coached the U6-U8 boys academy team while working at development centers across the UK to develop players to progress to the academy level. At Barnsley, Jamie coached the U11 boys academy team and implemented a continued professional development program for community staff coaches.

 

Lamb graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in England in 2007 with a BA in Sport and Recreational Development.

 

Adam currently holds his Premier, Director of Coaching, and Advanced National Diplomas from the NSCAA as well as a special topics diploma. In addition, he holds a Level 2 license for the English FA and a Youth Diploma from Coerver.

     
  Jaymee Highsock
Assistant Coach

Head Soccer Coach Chris Clements announced the hiring of Jaymee Highcock to the Avila coaching staff in April of 2013. He will be joining the staff in the summer.

 

Jaymee joins Avila after most recently serving as assistant coach at Blue River Community College. Prior to his time at Blue River CC, Highcock served as an assistant coach at fellow HAAC member Benedictine College. Over the past four years, Jaymee has coached club soccer at Futura FC, San Antonio United, and Puma FC.

 

Prior to taking up coaching, Jaymee was a major contributor and Benedictine College as a player. He was a team captain, All Conference performer, HAAC Champion, and National tournament participant in 2009. In three years at Benedictine, the team had a overall record of 42-12-2 and ranked as high as sixth in the nation (2010). Prior to enrolling at Benedicinte, Highcock was a team captain and Athlete of the Year at Maplewood's Community College.

 

Highcock received his BA in Physical Education from Benedictine College in 2012.

 

In England, Jaymee played for Swansea FC and was a teammate of current Liverpool player Joe Allen. Prior to his time at Swansea, Highcock also played for Yeovil Town FC and Portsmouth FC.

 

Jaymee holds his National Diploma, Junior Level VI, and Goalkeeping Diploma from the NSCAA and has also received his Level 1 and Goalkeeping Level 1 certification from the English FA.

     
Max Hasselquist
Assistant Coach

Max Hasselquist recently complete his fourth season with Avila University as an assistant.  Max was a four year starting goalkeeper for the Eagles from 2005-2009.  While a student at Avila Max received his degree in music, concentrating on vocal performance. He also completed his graduate school program at Avila receiving his graduate certification in education. Max has coached club soccer for 6 years in the Kansas City area for the KC Legends. Max currently teaches at Prairie Center Elementary School, in the Olathe School District, where he teaches K-5 elementary music. He will continue to be a great addition to the coaching staff at Avila sharing his knowledge and experience with the men's and women's soccer programs

     



Bryan Tunison
Strength & Conditioning Coach
   

Bryan Tunison has served as the strength and conditioning coach for the Avila soccer programs since 2011.

Bryan is a proud Avila Alum and is a former member of the men's soccer program. He graduated from Avila in the spring of 2011 with a degree in Sports Science and Human Performance. Prior to his time at AU, Bryan attended O’Hara High School in Kansas City where he received All-State soccer honors three times.  He also was a state qualifying wrestler. 

In addition to assisting with the fitness of the men’s and women’s soccer programs here at Avila, he is the Sports Performance Site Director at Boost Physical Therapy and Sports Performance in Independence, MO.

Bryan currently resides in Lee's Summit, Missouri.
