Oskaloosa, IA- The Eagles took on William Penn Tuesday. The cold weather and the gusting winds were also fighting both teams making it an even tougher match. Avila rose up and managed to overcome the conditions and came out of the game with a 5-1 win.

The Eagles were leading the Lady Statesmen at halftime with a score of 3-0. Danielle Price recorded the first two goals of the half and Emilee Bilyeu finished the third to give the girls a commanding lead. Colleen Reagan and Mollie Brown were each awarded an assist.

Rachelle Luster scored an unassisted goal in the second half and Price got another, completing her hat trick for the game. Keeper Renee Rudder had four saves on the game and allowed just one goal in the second half.

Coach Clements was glad the girls came to play. “Playing in these conditions can be a real challenge and the girls did not let it change the way they played. Everyone got substantial playing time today and the level of play never dropped.”

The Eagles look ahead to Saturday when they head to Culver-Stockton College for a conference match up.
