Kansas City, MO- Avila got their first conference win against Missouri Valley College Saturday afternoon. The Eagles played extremely well in the first half tallying three goals and allowing zero. Hillary Kerschbaum scored two goals in the first half with an assist by Mollie Brown and Rachelle Luster with the other goal.

The second half was dominated by Missouri Valley. They scored within five minutes of the second half, putting the Eagles in check. Luster answers two minutes later with her second goal of the game. Missouri Valley comes back and scores two more goals to make the score 4-3. Despite their efforts of the second half, they fell short and Avila came out with the win.

Coach Clements again commented on the fact that the girls have yet to string two solid halves together this year but was pleased that they came out with the win. He stated, "In order to compete with the top teams in the conference, we need to play a full ninety minutes with the intensity and composure that we are capable of."

The Eagles will look for their second conference win and fifth straight win against Baker University. The game is Tuesday at 6pm in Baldwin City.
