Lamoni
, IA- The Eagles traveled up to Iowa
to play Graceland University . The girls fought hard from the moment
they stepped on the field until the final whistle. Despite their
efforts, they fell short to Graceland , 0-2.
Avila fought hard and kept
the game close. They kept the game scoreless for the first 33 minutes
of the game before Chelsea Phillips slipped one past keeper Renee
Rudder. The girls did not back down and continued to fight. Phillips
finished another shot early in the second half and Graceland held
onto the win. Graceland out shot Avila 25 to 11.
After 90 minutes of solid
soccer, the Eagles still kept their heads high. Coach Clements was
very pleased with their effort. He stated, “Sometimes the scoreboard
doesn't reflect how the actual game was played. I'm never pleased
with a loss, but the team fought hard and played well. We'll only
go up from here.”
The Eagles face Central Methodist
