Baldwin City, KS- The Eagles drop to Baker University Tuesday night 0-3. Baker came out and dominated with 12 shots in the first half to Avila's 1 shot. Baker forward Alix Schiraldi snuck a goal by in the 24 th minute of the game. The half ended with a 1-0 lead in Baker's favor.

Throughout the game, Baker had 9 shots on goal while Avila could not manage to test their keeper one time. Shiraldi earned her second goal of the game and Jenny Haynes tacked on the third. Despite the high score, Avila's defense played effectively against the Baker offense and did not give up any goals in the run of the game. Their three goals all came from set pieces.

Coach Clements was pleased with some aspects of the game but still expects a lot out of the girls. He stated, "Today was a frustrating loss. We have a young team and have a lot to learn about playing together. Competing in this conference takes a lot of hard work and dedication, and we did not show that for the whole game today.

This weekend will be another tough test for the girls. As a coaching staff, we will do what we can to get them ready. The rest will be up to them on Saturday."

The Eagles are now 5-5 on the season and 1-1 in conference. They play Lindenwood University Saturday, October 3, at Swope Park. The game is set to start at 6pm.
