Lisa
Holton wil be returning for her second season this year. She
grew up in Rockford Illinois, the daughter of a golf pro. She started
playing at the age of five. Her father was an accomplished tournament
player in the midwest as well as a popular teacher, so she was schooled
early on in the fundamentals of golf. Lisa played on the boys' team
in high school because there was no girls' team at her small boarding
school in St. Louis. She met her husband working in the pro shop
for her father and has been married to Jim, an avid golfer, for
the past 29 years.
After raising three sons, Lisa got hooked on golf again seven years
ago when they joined a country club in the KC area. She has served
as President and most all positions for the Ladies Golf association
of her club. She won the club championship in 2004 and the 'most
improved golfer' award for the Women's Golf Assoc. of KC. Lisa is
a trained volunteer for the First Tee program of KC and volunteers
her time to help organize the Women's Future Tour event, held at
her club for the past two years. Giving back to the game of golf
is important to Lisa. Golf gave her many great experiences growing
up and she wants to see golf help strengthen and build character
for today's young women.
