Lisa
Holton is taking over as Head Coach for the Women's Team this
year; she assisted for two years under Jerry Krause.
Lisa grew up in Rockford Illinois, the daughter of a golf
pro. She started playing at the age of five. Her father was
an accomplished tournament player in the Midwest as well as
a popular teacher, so she was schooled early on the fundamentals
of golf, and played on the boys' team in high school. She
is an avid competitive golfer and also married to a golfer.
She met her husband working in the pro shop for her father
and has been married to Jim for the past 30 years.
Lisa has served as President and most all positions for the
Ladies Golf association of her club, Leawood South. She won
the club championship in 2004 and the 'most improved golfer'
award for the Women's Golf Assoc. of KC. Lisa is a trained
volunteer for the First Tee program of KC. She also regularly
attends USGA training workshops in the Rules of Golf. Giving
back to the game of golf is important to Lisa. Golf gave her
many great experiences growing up and she wants to see golf
help strengthen and build character for today's young men
and women.
Recruiting
is under way now for the Men's Golf Team starting up in the
Fall of 2010. Lisa will be Head Coach for the Men's Team as
well. |
