Avila University Woman's Volleyball Adds 9 New Players for Fall 2010 Season

Holly Wilson – A 5'9 Junior Middle Blocker from Raymore, MO. Received All –Region, All-Conference and All – District honors throughout her High School career at Raymore – Peculiar HS. Attended Longview Community College for 2 years and helped lead the #4 Nationally Ranked Lakers to a 35-10 record her freshman year and earned Most Improved Player. During her sophomore year she was the team captain and earned All- Tournament honors in 3 different tournaments and was Named Offensive Player of the year. She also was awarded Region XVI Division II All- Region 1 st Team. Holly is a nursing major with a cumulative GPA of 3.7 – earning her Academic All-American Honors.

Julie Ohlms - A 5'11 Outside Hitter/Setter from St. Charles, MO. Julie graduated from Lutheran High School, where she was a 3 year varsity letterman. She was All- Conference in 2006 and 2007 as well as All-District in 2007. Julie went on to play one year at State Fair Community College where as a freshman she was named to the All-District Team. Her Sophomore year Julie went on to play at East Central College where she led her team to the NJCAA Region 16 Championship and a 13 th place finish at the National Tournament. Julie led her team with 306 kills and 68 Service Aces. She also added 27 assists and 35 blocks.

Heather Tripp - A 5'3 Freshman Defensive Specialist - St. Mary's High School in Independence, MO. As a senior at St. Mary she received 2 nd Team All – Conference, HM All- Area and was selected to play in the MO-KAN All Star Game.In 2008 She received 2 nd Team All Region.

Leinani Marshal – 5'10 Junior Outside Hitter – Lee's Summit, MO. A 2007 Graduate from Lee's Summit North High School, Leinani was a 2 year Varsity Letterman. In 2005 she helped lead the Broncos to a conference championship. As a senior she was named to the All- Conference team. Leinani went on to play for Longview Community College and helped lead the Lakers to a 22-18 record in 2009. Leinani will be majoring in Elementary Education.

Alexis Nibert – 5'8 Freshman Outside Hitter – St. Mary's High School in Independence, MO. As a senior at St. Mary's she received Honorable Mention All – Conference, Honorable Mention All – State and 2 nd Team All – Area. As a junior in 2008 she received Honorable Mention All – Area. She helped lead the St. Mary's Volleyball team to a conference championship in 2006 and 2008 as well as District Championship in 2006 and 2007 and a 4 th Place finish at the Missouri Class 2 State Championships in 2006.

Erin Stephenson- A 5'5 Setter - Lee's Summit, MO. A 2008 Graduate of Archbishop O'Hara High School, Erin helped lead her team to a Class 3 State Championship in 2005 and 2007. She was also named to Missouri Class 3 All – State team in 2007. Erin is a nursing major.

Caressa Wainwright – A 5'11 Midddle Blocker/ Outside Hitter from Adrian, MO. A 2010 Graduate from Adrian High School. In 2009 She was named to the WEMO All – Conference Team. Caressa is a Graphic Design Major.

Paige Barrett – 5'9 Freshman Outside Hitter – Kansas City, MO. Paige is a 2010 graduate from Grandview Christian School. She will be majoring in Physical Therapy.
