  Softball Outlook 2010

The Eagles enter the 2010 season with a fresh start.  With 8 freshman joining the squad and a new coaching staff the team has made some big changes.  The squad plans on putting past seasons behind them and creating a new legacy for Avila Softball.  Erin Sapp, Courtney Ryan and Lana Dunning were voted captains in the fall by their teammates and coaches and have done a tremendous job since of preparing and leading their team.

The 2010 season will feature a better offense and defense then seasons past.  Both the infield and outfield will have a completely different look from last years team.  The eagles also have more depth than in years past which allowed the staff to push the team to new levels of competition.  The pitching staff looks to be strong with the addition of several Freshman to the battery.

Offense should be more potent and will threaten to score more often.  The team has more speed and is more aggressive on the bases.  The team plans to create more excitement on the base path and take advantage of any miscues from the opponents defense.  With the combined speed and power the staff feels our offense is going to be a fun thing to watch!

Overall 2010 is a season of rebirth.  The eagles first pitch is scheduled for Feb. 20th against Haskell Indian University in Lawrence, KS.

DC Eagles!
