This is Melissa's second year as an assistant coach here at Avila. Melissa began her cheerleading career at Shawnee Mission South High School where she was co-captain of her Varsity squad. She became a UCA All-Star in 2000, and went on to receive a cheerleading and dance scholarship to Coffeyville Community College, a nationally ranked college in Southeast Kansas. In 2002, she was an assistant coach for Shawnee Mission South High School, and then went on to Northwest Missouri State where she danced on the Northwest Dance Company. She is currently employed by Rewards Network, a restaurant marketing company, as the Account Manager for the central states region. Here at Avila, Melissa acts as the recruiting coach, and spends a great deal of her time finding new talent to fulfill this already successful and amazing squad. She truly enjoys being a part of this amazing program, and looks forward to working with this great group of girls this year!
