It’s time to get in the Homecoming spirit with the first Homecoming games of the week! Wearing your finest purple and gold, help us cheer on the Women’s (at 1:30 pm) and the Men’s (at 4:00 pm) soccer teams to a victory against Benedictine College!

6:30 p.m. Arts at Avila Opening Night Reception - Goppert Theatre Lobby
This reception is for supporters of the Arts at Avila program. Join fellow theatre lovers for a champagne toast to officially kick off the theatre season. To learn how to join Arts at Avila, call 816-501-3689. By invitation only.

10:30-11:00 a.m. Heritage Meet & Greet Reception - Orscheln Chapel Lobby
Reconnect with your classmates prior to Mass.

11:00am Heritage Mass - Orscheln Chapel
Join in our annual celebration of the heritage of Avila University and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Mass includes a beautiful choral presentation by the Avila University Singers.

12:15pm Heritage Luncheon - Whitfield Center
This annual luncheon honors and celebrates the members of the Avila Heritage Society, individuals who have designated a gift to Avila in their estate plans, or established a named endowed scholarship. Members of the class of 1965 will be honored with their 50-year pin. Campus tours following.

1:30pm Avila Women's Volleyball vs. Haskell Indian Nations University - Mabee Fieldhouse
Wear your purple and gold as you cheer on the Lady Eagle’s at the Homecoming Volleyball game!

2:30pm 1965 Class Reunion & Reception - Marian Center
Celebrating 50 years! Join other ’65 alums for a special reception and pick up your Reunion Booklet.

5:00-7:00pm Former Faculty & Staff Reception - McCullough Courtyard
All former Avila Faculty and Staff are invited to come back to campus and enjoy an evening
reception with past co-workers and friends.

 
 

5:00-7:30pm Eagle Madness - Mabee Fieldhouse
Join Avila students, faculty, staff and alumni for dancing, music, performances, contests and more as you meet all the fall sports teams and their coaches. This is a great, free activity for the family. Bring the kids!

6:00 p.m. Dinner Theatre- Goppert Theatre Lobby
Dinner and a show is always a good time! Join friends for a delicious prime rib dinner prior to the play, The Nerd by Larry Shue. Tickets are $28 per person and include dinner and the play.

Meet your tour guides.

11:00am Tailgate & BBQ - Thompson Hall & McCarthy Observation Deck
It’s BBQ on the lunch menu for the annual (and very popular) Homecoming Tailgate. Bring the family, meet Dom the Eagle and help us cheer on the Eagles football team! $5 per person.

1:00pm Avila Homecoming Football vs. Culver-Stockton College - Zarda Complex Field
Make sure to wear your purple and gold as you join us on the hill to cheer on your Avila Eagle
Football team to a win against rival Culver-Stockton Wildcats.

 
 


3:15-5:00pm Alumni Choir Rehearsal - Orscheln Chapel, Foyel Hall
Join us for a reunion and rehearsal to prepare the pieces you’ll be performing at Sunday’s Alumni Mass.

4:30pm - Alumni Happy Hour - Waldo
Join fellow young alum for drinks and appetizers in Waldo. The $12 registration
include appetizers and one drink ticket. Plan to go to the tailgate, as well?
Pay $15 for a Happy Hour and Tailgate combo ticket.

5:00pm - Alumni Reception - Marian Center
Calling ALL Alumni! Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served during this progressive reception. We will
kick things off in the newly completed Learning Commons and then mix and mingle our way across campus
hitting all the new hot spots along the way! It’s the perfect pre-party for Dinner Theatre!
