Each year at Homecoming, the Alumni Recognition Ceremony is held. This ceremony recognizes Alumni and friends who generously give their service, creativity, and ambition to their communities, their professions, and Avila University.

Outstanding Alumnus
A special award given to an individual who has supported Avila University in an extraordinary manner.
Honorary Alumnus
Awarded to an individual who has not graduated from Avila, but has served the university and/or the alumni association in a distinguished manner.
Alumni Service Award
For those individuals who have made special contributions to the importance of education at Avila or for service to the alumni association.
Alumni Achievement Award
Award intended for those who have made special contributions to the greater community served by Avila University.
Graduate Alumni Award
Award given to those who are alumni of the graduate programs and exemplify service, leadership and professionalism in their chosen field.
Recent Alumni Award
Award to a recent Avila University graduate (15 years or less) who has demonstrated leadership by using his or her education to enrich the lives of others and who exemplifies the principles and ideals of Avila University.
Academic Department Alumni Award
Awarded by an academic department to an alumnus of a program who demonstrates the values of the department and Avila University in his or her career path and community leadership. Award determined by department representatives from Business, Education, Psychology, Humanities, Nursing, Social Sciences, etc.
Lifetime Board Member Award
Life membership status may be conferred on former alumni board members in recognition of outstanding and continuing service to the board and the association. Such lifetime member is an ex-officio member of the board without voting privileges. A minimum of one year must lapse before a member can be considered for this recognition.
Athletic Hall of Fame
Election to the Athletic Hall of Fame is determined by the Hall of Fame committee. Athletic Hall of Fame award is presented during a special ceremony at an athletic event.
