  Fishin' and Family
  March 3, 2008

Go figure, I get all my fishing stuff out and go once and then the next week it gets all cold again. The fish were biting too! I went Saturday for a couple of hours and caught a few channel cats and several small mouth bass. I figured I wasn't going to catch too much since it is still early, but they must have been starved all winter long. Hopefully it will get warm again soon. I can't wait to hook up with my dad and walk a couple of the creeks back home which is always a blast.

I had planned on going fishing on Wednesday too, but went home instead. I finally got a job up here (been applying to places for three years now) and won't be able to go home on Spring Break so I went down to say hello. My young brothers are always fun to hang out with as they are always really crazy…especially when I bring my camera home. They always want me to take pictures of them acting silly. Since I was only home for a day, we probably spent a couple of hours just trying to get some pictures of them jumping off of things (how they don't get hurt sometimes I don't know because they really hit the floor hard).

I would have stayed home longer if I had known that Avila was going to lose power and my classes were going to get canceled. There was an accident on Wornall Road that caused the entire nationhood to lose power for a couple of hours. While not having class is always good, not having power is NOT good. Practically everything I do needs electricity. It was really weird; Chase and I just sat there watching a blank TV for a while because we couldn't think of anything else to do. Never realized how much I depend upon electricity.

At least it made Thursday interesting which is usually pretty boring. I always dread Thursday because of my night class. It is political philosophy. The class it really interesting, but 2.5 hours of hard philosophy will give anyone a headache. Luckily I had Friday night to flush out my frustrations as I played dodge ball for six hours straight. We had about a hundred people playing on eight teams so it was just crazy. My team came in second overall which was awesome.

Well, with work starting soon I probably won't have as much free time, but all good thing have to come to an end. At least this way I can get some cash into my pockets. Until next week…
