January 1, 2008 – FAFSA Available Online
The 2008-2009 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is available beginning January 1, 2008. The FAFSA is
available at your high school guidance office or online at www.FAFSA.ed.gov. Avila’s FAFSA school code is 002449.
January 15, 2008 – Application Priority Date
Priority date for Avila University scholarship consideration. Please refer to above checklist for the items that should be
postmarked by January 15, 2008.
Applications completed postmarked by January 15, 2008, will be automatically considered for a range of Avila University
merit-based scholarships. Applications postmarked after January 15, 2008, will be given scholarship consideration based
on availability of funds.
March 1, 2008 – First-year Student FAFSA Priority Deadline
First-year applicants should complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by March 1, 2008 in order
to receive a comprehensive financial aid package prior to the National Reply Date of May 1, 2008. FAFSA available
beginning January 1, 2008.
May 1, 2008 – National Reply Date
Admitted first-year students must submit their $200 enrollment deposit and housing application and contract
(postmarked no later than May 1, 2008) to secure a position in the entering 2008 class (deposit is refundable until
May 1, 2008).
June 1, 2008 – Transfer Student FAFSA Priority Deadline
Transfer applicants should complete the FAFSA by June 1 in order to receive a comprehensive financial aid package.
Missouri residents must file the FAFSA by April 1 in order to qualify for Missouri grant assistance.
