School of Nursing: Program Expenses & Scholarships

Nursing Scholarship Opportunities

The Student Affairs Committee supports, sponsors, and initiates the MOSINA, Tradition of Excellence, Excellence in Clinical Practice Award, and the Excellence in Leadership Award for formal recognition of outstanding student achievement. Each award and scholarship has specific criteria and deadlines.

Scholarships

Tradition of Excellence At least one pre-licensure junior nursing student is selected annually by the nursing faculty following admission to the nursing program and completion of the first semester of nursing courses with a 3.00 nursing GPA or better. The selected student demonstrates through a written essay a commitment and potential for excellence in nursing.

The Research Foundation nursing scholarship is for students pursuing a degree in nursing at the following nursing programs: Avila University (Kansas City, MO), Rockhurst University/Research College of Nursing (Kansas City, MO), or William Jewell College (Liberty, MO).
