“Avila is a welcoming community, a university engaged with its neighbors that prepares students to be competent, yet compassionate professionals who work to make a difference.”

Welcome to Avila University: Opening Doors to a Bright Future

I invite you to take a few moments to explore our Web site, discovering what thousands of men and women have discovered before you – Avila is a special place to grow academically, spiritually and personally.

Grounded in our heritage as an institution founded by and focused on the values of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, Avila broadly educates students, teaches them to think and prepares them to work with others who are most in need of their service.

The University's faculty, staff and students continually work to prepare students to serve in a world community by giving them real-world experiences. Our multi-disciplinary approach focuses on global learning and prepares our students to be leaders. The laboratory in which much of this learning occurs is in our community of the greater Kansas City area.

The University also leads by example through service to others. From its very beginnings, Avila has embraced the principles of the Sisters, adding to the richness of knowledge, talents, ideas and service in the community. We open our doors as a place to meet, participate and engage with the community about the critical issues facing our society.

Ultimately, Avila remains firmly rooted in being a welcoming and engaging leader within the community to prepare its students to lead as competent and compassionate scholars and professionals.
Come enjoy the Avila experience.
