Avila University Students Take the Community Plunge

As part of a yearly tradition, Avila University first-year students will take the “Community Plunge,” Aug. 21, 2007, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Harvesters- The Community Food Network. 

The entire class of 2011 will be in attendance as they are first introduced to the Avila community values of service to the global community. Students will work together in teams to prepare food for distribution to the community.  For several years, Avila first-year students have helped to prepare literally hundreds of tons of food for the community as part of this program.

This annual event is conducted during first-year student orientation and serves as a way to introduce new students to each other and Avila.

This event consistently provides great photo opportunities, highlighting both the good works of Harvesters and Avila University.
