AVILA UNIVERSITY 69 Affairs Office. The deadline for appealing grades is published in the course schedule. Application for Degree Students must file an application for degree with the Registration Office to be evaluated for graduation eligibility.  There are four official dates each academic year used for graduation: December, May, June and August. The deadlines for applications are shown below.   If you will complete all courses by: a)   December, application is due by last business day in April. b)  May, application is due by last business day in August. c)   June or August, and participating in May Commencement, application is due by last business day in September. d)  June or August, and NOT participating in May Commencement, application is due by last business day in February. A graduation fee is added to the student’s financial account when the application is received.  Late fees ranging from $25 to $100 will also be added if the application is received in the Registration Office after the deadline.  Late fee details are available online and in the Registration Office. After the degree application is received in the Registration Office, an audit of all academic work is completed by Registration Office staff to verify degree requirements not yet completed. Written notification is sent to the student and advisor for review and appropriate action. If you will not complete all courses by the graduation date initially applied for, you must file a change of graduation date form in the Registration Office before a new graduation date will be granted.  Progress must be made in completing degree requirements within one year after last attending or you will need to reapply for re-admittance to the University in order to com- plete your degree.  If you do not make progress in completing these requirements within two years after last attending, you will fall under a new catalog for requirements, which could change what is needed for the completion of the degree. Participation in Commencement Students who have nine (9) or fewer credits to complete during the summer session may par- ticipate in the May Commencement exercises. Academic Honors Semester Honors Dean’s List Full-time admitted undergraduate students are eligible for the Dean’s List during fall and spring semesters. Students must have successfully completed at least 12 credit hours with at least a 3.500 semester grade point average. Students on the Dean’s List will receive notification and a certificate from the Provost and are eligible to attend the Honors Banquet in the spring of that academic year and are listed in the student newspaper.
