Head Coach Bruce Young announced last week that second year assistant coach Dan Scheible has been elevated to the position of Assistant head coach for the Avila Eagles football team.
Scheible’s previous 27 years of coaching experience, 21 at the college level, gives him great experience to take over more phases of the university’s football program.
The new position will allow Scheible to coordinate the Eagles entire run game plus other duties such as: recruiting year round, strength training, supervising academic issues and weekly game day preparation.
Coach Young stated, “Coach Scheible is a head coaches dream. He is always one step ahead and pays strict attention to every detail.”
Young and Scheible go way back in the game of football. Besides both attending Northwest Missouri State and playing football for the Bearcats. Scheible played for Young at Norborne, MO and was Coach Young’s first high school All-State football player. Since that time Scheible has made his mark in football as an assistant at Missouri Southern University and being part of the coaching staff that won a National Championship at Cameron University (OK). Scheible will assume all these duties and responsibilities immediately at Avila University. |
