Mike Sharpe is currently in his seventh year as Athletic Director for Avila University. Mike has enjoyed 17 years in college athletics with positions at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Johnson County Community College, Brown-Mackie College, and Pratt Community College. During his seven years at Avila, Mike has overseen numerous improvements to Avila's athletics which included the celebration of the first year of intercollegiate participation for the Avila football program, the expansion of competitive Dance and Cheer, the formation of a new women's golf team, and the $2.5 million expansion of the Mabee Fieldhouse. Mike was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference's Athletic Director of the Year for 2002-2003, and for 2004-2005. Mike was also named the NAIA Region V Athletic Director of the Year 2005-2006. Mike resides in Overland Park, Ks, with his wife Brenda and two children William & Theresia.
