Dwyla Young - Assistant Softball
Coach
Returning to the Eagles softball staff for the fourth season is
Dwyla Young who retired from 31 years of teaching and coaching at
the high school level.
Young graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a
Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and Health. For the
last 21 years, she taught physcial education at Raymore-Pecuilar
High School and also coached both softball and basketball.
In her eight year career as the Ray-Pec softball coach, Young compiled
an impressive 179-41 record. Her teams won eight straight
district championships and made two state tournament appearances.
In 2002, Young's team won the Missouri Class 4A state championship.
Young was also an active summer coach, coaching competitive club
softball for 10 years.
Dwyla and her husband Bruce, Avila's football coach, have three
daughters Julie, Lindy, and Kara.
