Townsend Named HAAC Player of the Week

Avila University's Women's Basketball caps 3-0 Week in Conference
 

Senior, Ashley Townsend (Orrick, MO) was named HAAC Player of the Week for her 2 outstanding games last week against conference foes, Central Methodist College and Graceland University. The senior forward scored 58 total points with 26 against Central Methodist and 32 against Graceland. Townsend added 9 rebounds, 5 blocked shots, and 6 steals on the week.

The Lady Eagles completed a 3 game sweep this week over HAAC Conference schools to improve their record to 8-2 and 3-1 in the conference. The Lady Eagles completed the week's sweep with a 77-58 win on the road at Culver Stockton College. The Eagles relied on a total team effort without their 2 leading scores, Alyson Young, out with a broken nose, and Ashley Townsend, who was out after spraining her ankles with 6 minutes left in the Graceland University win Thursday night.

The Eagles head to Florida for Christmas break to participate in the Northwood University Classic on December 29 th and 30th, before opening up the second semester on the road at Baker University January 8 th .
