Zach
Snyder Throws a No Hitter
2
nd No Hitter in School History
After a tight game one
battle against Central Methodist University, Zach Snyder
told his head coach that he wants the ball for game two.
Zach, pitching on just three days rest, took the mound there was
a different look in his eyes and he was determined to pitch
a quality game. Snyder had three walks and no hits up to
this point entering the 6 th inning when the games only scare
happened. A high chopper was hit over Zach's head and
it was scooped up by the third basemen Andy Velarde and
thrown to first just ahead of the speedy runner. The no
hitter was complete when a pinch hitter for Central Methodist
struck out to end the game and secure the win for the Eagles.
The Avila Eagles raced
onto the field to congratulate Zach Snyder and history was made.
Head Coach Ryan Howard was almost in tears while talking about
Snyder, "Zach has overcome three surgeries' to get to this
point; he has two shoulder surgeries and a knee surgery.
I am very proud of him for sticking with the program and not giving
up on his baseball career." The Eagles will hope this
inspiration will carry them through the vigorous Heart of America
Conference schedule.
