Avila University Men's Soccer Player Wins
Defensive Player of the Week Award
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Ray Dlugolecki, senior goalie from Lee's Summit, Missouri, was named Defensive Player of the Week in the Heart of America Conference. Ray saved 16 shots on goal in 105 minutes for a complete game shutout of Baker University on September 29 th . The Eagles tied the game 0-0 in double overtime. Dlugolecki followed that performance up at home against Lindenwood University allowing only 2 goals in the 2-0 loss.
Ray is averaging less than 1 and half goals (1.47) allowed a game so far this season. He has only allowed 15 goals this season and has saved 54 shots, and has deending the net with 3 shutouts, including Saturday's 1-0 win over Culver-Stockton.
The Avila Eagles are now 4-8-1 on the year and 1-2-1 in the Heart of America Conference. They travel to another HAAC conference opponent, Graceland University (7-4, 3-1), on October 17 th for a 7:00 PM game in Lamoni, Iowa.
