Kansas City, MO - Four members of the Avila University Volleyball team were recently honored with Heart of America Athletic Conference honors.

Defensive player Casey Jones, Stilwell, KS, was named HAAC Conference Co-Libero of the Year. Jones led the conference in digs per game with 6.7, and was honored as the HAAC Libero of the Week four times in 2006.

Middle hitter Stacie Suntken, Indianola, IA, received 2nd Team All-Conference honors. Suntken had a .254 kill percentage and averaged 2.2 kills per game.

Courtney Schenewerk, California, MO, and Beth Laughery, Blair, NE were named Honorable Mention. From her outside hitter position, Schenewerk led the Eagles in kills with 2.74 per game. Laughery averaged 9.7 assists per game.

Under first year head coach Amy Carlson, the Eagles reached the conference playoffs for only the second time in their history, finishing the season with an overall record of 9-13.
