LIBRARY:
The Hooley-Bundschu Library houses more than 70,000 books and
500 periodicals and newspapers, and is a member of the MOBIUS
Consortium.
RESIDENCE HALLS:
There are two halls that provide 126 furnished-double rooms. Each
floor has a kitchen, laundry facilities, lounge, and study rooms.
Each room has free internet access, cable, and local telephone
service. Thompson Hall, Avila's newest residence hall, is a suite-style
residence hall with four private bedrooms, two bathrooms, and
a common space with kitchenette in each suite.
THEATRE:
The 2007 - 2008 season includes Black Comedy, Grapes of Wrath,
Marison, and Kiss Me Kate.
NEWSPAPER:
The Talon has received numerous journalism awards and
is published every three weeks during the school year.
MOCK TRIAL TEAM:
This is the fourth year of Avila’s Mock Trial team and they
placed 6th at the national tournament in St. Petersburg, Florida
in 2007.
DANCE TEAM:
Since its inception in 2001, the Avila dance team has consistently
placed in the top five at the NDA national competition in Orlando,
Florida.
OPPORTUNITIES:
Avila students built houses in Mexico, filmed a movie in Honduras,
interviewed professional athletes, and traveled to the islands
of Hawaii and Grenada where they researched lizards.
